Rhubarb Farm: What it is like being a CIC
Rhubarb Farm became a CIC in October 2009. It is a small social enterprise on the north Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border.
Has 30 years development experience in Sheffield, Derbyshire & ; in Hong Kong, Ethiopia, Sudan, and Eritrea. She has worked in community action and rights, mental health, housing, gypsy and traveller action, and refugee rehabilitation. She ran a community allotments project for Rotherham PCT involving residents in Rotherham, & an organic therapeutic horticultural project in NE Derbs. In all this time she wrote as a freelancer and stringer for a variety of wire and features services, and in 2010 published a book, Red Sea Railway. She has management, audit, evaluation and project management skills and experience. Jennie opens her own garden each year for a local open gardens scheme and for 2 years under the National Gardens Scheme (Yellow Book).
