Social Enterprise UK - welcoming CICs with free membership

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Community Interest Company Stakeholder

As a CIC you are part of a growing movement for change, one that does not accept that business as usual is good enough, one that combines purpose with profit. You are, in short, a social enterprise - part of a community of nearly 80,000 businesses that are taking on some of the most pressing issues we face as a planet from rising inequality to climate change.

Social Enterprise UK is a membership body for social enterprises. It is the largest network of these businesses in the world. From Wednesday 7th March we will be opening up our membership, welcoming start-up social enterprises at no cost. Given that the CIC structure is the most easily identified legal form for a social enterprise, we will be welcoming all CICs with a turnover of under £100,000 with a free membership offer.

What does free membership entail?

Free membership will allow you to tap into our growing network of business for good.

You will gain access to:

  • member networking events
  • the latest news and opportunities through our online communications

You will also receive a certification badge identifying you as a certified social enterprise.

Most importantly you will strengthen the collective voice of the social enterprise movement as we campaign to drive awareness and change. Click here to find out more.

What if I’m a larger CIC with a higher turnover?

Membership of SEUK for larger social enterprises is determined by turnover starting at £100,000 - £500,000 with an annual fee of £175. For more information on membership bands visit our website.

Larger social enterprises enjoy:

  • more exclusive offers
  • more targeted sector specific support

What does Social Enterprise UK do?

Social enterprises are the future of business and together with our members we are the voice for the sector.

We strive to:

  • build a favourable policy environment
  • build the markets for social enterprises
  • work with the public and the private sectors to bring social enterprises into their supply chains

We run large public facing campaigns and conduct in-depth research to build the evidence base for social enterprise.

Every social enterprise has a home at SEUK and we hope that you will add your voice to our collective efforts and look forward to welcoming you to our membership.
