A Director of the Power to Change Research Institute. I was previously a senior civil servant and deputy director of the independent think tank Reform. I have extensive experience of public policy making, particularly in criminal justice, local government and the not-for-profit sector. I am a trustee of Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) and the Forces in Mind Trust and also members of the Advisory Councils of Volunteering Matters and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).
I have advised governments in Australia, Japan, Europe and the Middle East about various aspects of public service reform and have published on a wide range of topics, including crime and criminal justice, deregulation, fiscal sustainability, philanthropy and social investment.
I am also a Visiting Senior Fellow at St Mary’s University.
